Nick Vanderlet received his Bachelors degree with honors in Electrical Engineering from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute finishing with a 3.89 GPA. Nick has been involved in many activities during his four years at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute. His work has brought much recognition to the Institute as a whole and he continues to be a pioneer in his field of study.
Nick received the Rensselaer Polytechnic Engineering Award, which is presented to a student who has demonstrated leadership and innovation in the engineering field. Under Nick’s leadership as the public relations committee co-chair of the SGA, student involvement in the organization increased 30% as a result of more programming and events, improved organizational image, and increased recruitment efforts. He has interned with General Electric and conducted research in the electrical engineering field. He is a member of the Gemstone program and IEEE. He was inducted into Phi Kappa Phi and Tau Beta Pi, the engineering honor society and was an integral part of a team which represented Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute at the IEEE Northeast Conference held in Rochester, NY. His team was able to place in the top 15 out of a field of approximately 40 schools in the extremely competitive Hardware Events Category.
Nick has been very involved in community service with respect to children and teens, serving as a tutor and teaching assistant for students from grade school right up to the collegiate level. He loves all sporting and outdoor events, particularly soccer, and enjoys listening to music. Nick played four years of soccer at the collegiate level and was voted captain of the team both his junior and senior year. He plans to work in the field of electrical engineering and is a valuable asset to any organization seeking an innovative leader and team player.
